A Brooklyn native with over 20 years of experience in community and professional development. Wiggins is an author, TEDx Speaker, college professor, and coach who has led numerous initiatives that significantly enhanced literacy and employment opportunities for residents of both New York and New Jersey. In 2015, Wiggins self-published "A Farewell to Welfare: 25 Strategies to Freedom, Independence, and Prosperity," a book designed to empower mothers to pursue their career and educational goals through faith. That same year, she founded ELEASE, LLC, a company focused on coaching, staff training, and publishing.

 

Recognizing the lack of resources for adult basic education students, Wiggins partnered with the Central Brooklyn Economic Development Corporation, Raymour and Flanigan, and the Brooklyn Public Library in 2018 to host a bookbag drive for adult students. The following year, 89% of the participating students earned their General Equivalency Diplomas, leading to the creation of Communities Promoting Reading. This non-profit organization promotes intergenerational literacy and wellness.

In response to COVID-19, Wiggins and the Communities Promoting Reading board adapted the organization's mission to promote intergenerational literacy and wellness for all. Wiggins facilitates monthly in-person Book Club and Brunch events throughout Bergen County, New Jersey and Putnam County New York.

Wiggins is a graduate of the Brooklyn Job Corps Academy. She also holds an associate's degree in public administration, a bachelor's degree in applied business management from Medgar Evers College, and a master's degree in urban studies from Queens College. She currently serves as a Trustee for the Englewood New Jersey Board of Education.
